Christmas Memories - One Year Ago!

So, I've had this draft sitting in my box for about a year. :)  As I was partly done with it (and it was called "Christmas Recap - Part 2!"), I ended up having a baby. He kind of took over my life and my blog and all that jazz.  So anyway, with Christmas one week away, I thought I'd look back on last Christmas.

Anyway, on Christmas morning, we woke up kind of early and we exchanged gifts.

We also had some small gifts for the cats.  Though at that point, Leia would have gladly returned Lucy. ;)

Our stockings at the top and Leo and Leia's on bottom (we didn't have Lucy when we bought them!)

White Christmas!

For about a year, John had been saying he wanted an Ipad. Well, thanks to Black Friday deals and careful planning, I was able to surprise him with one! He was totally shocked! I also got him 2 video games that he wanted, an Ipad case, some pajamas, and other small items.

"What's this?"

After we finished gifts, I made a simple breakfast. Then we headed over to my grandma's for lunch.  It was just the three of us. We had a lovely visit.

After that, we went straight to my best friend Ashley's for Christmas dinner with her family. They had very kindly invited us since they knew we were going to be alone for dinner. We had turkey and all the fixings. :) It was also great to see and spend some time with them. Her parents were there as well.

I'm sure this upcoming Christmas will be far different! We'll be spending it with my family and we have Jeremiah to keep us on our toes! But it was fun to think back to our last Christmas of just us. :)

Christmas Pictures

Someone was a grumpy fellow and didn't want to cooperate, but we still got a few good ones! Luckily, I only planned on getting a few anyway since I had a Groupon that didn't include a lot. :)  He was clingy (he's been sick) and just wanted me to hold him. I had other ideas for the pictures.

Anyway, despite his being King Crab that day, I think he made an adorable elf. :)

Enjoy!

Jeremiah is 11 Months Old!

Jeremiah is 11 months old! (As of 2 days ago... slight delay in posting!)

It's so hard to believe that in one month, my little cutie will be a year old! It's going so fast!
He is a wonderful, sweet boy.  He is very happy and silly.  People comment on how cute and happy he is when we go places!
He is now 26 pounds!  He was 26 pounds 7 ounces, got sick and was 25 pounds 8 ounces, but rebounded about a week later. Yes, the poor thing got really, really sick. Combination of a stomach virus and a double ear infection. At the hospital, they tried 3 times to do an iv, did a different blood draw, and two intramuscular injections (are you starting to see why this post is a couple days late?). It was torturous for him and for us watching!
He was starting to improve on sleep, but since he's been sick, it's gotten much, much worse.  He's waking up about 10 times a night -seriously.  This is also the first time he's slept NOT in my arms while I've been around him for over a week.  So, Christmas cards? Yeah, still need to be mailed out. Gifts? Still to wrap. Blog? Nope.

One area that has grown a ton this month is talking. A couple of weeks ago, he put two words together for the first time. He saw me making his bottle and said "Mama, baba." (Baba is what he calls his bottle.) He also says "Eo" for "Leo," "Eia" for "Leia," "mama," "dada," and "hi."  He also babbles a lot with other noises.
This past month, he transitioned to mainly formula, and I gave up pumping.  He gets about one bottle a day from what I froze.  He also eats 3 meals a day of finger food and purees most days.  He likes his food and gets excited when we put him in his high chair and put his bib on. His favorites seem to be cheese, eggs, sweet potatoes, and cheerios.
He is such a little joy!
