Jeremiah, you're three weeks old today!
Your first three weeks haven't been the easiest, but you're doing much better now!
At birth, you weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces.
At one week (well, 6 days), you weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce.
At two weeks, you weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces.
At three weeks, 7 pounds, 10 ounces. You're almost back to your birth weight!
The jaundice that sent us to the hospital for testing 3 times within your first week out of the hospital appears better. Weight gain helps with that.
You generally eat once every three hours, though occasionally you sleep a little longer. During the day, we try waking you for feedings after 3 or 3.5 hours - we need to put weight on you! At night, I usually am sleeping as well, so if you go 4 hours, you go 4 hours. You've never gone longer than 5 hours, and that was only once. You still aren't quite strong enough to feed directly from Mommy, but you eat breastmilk from the bottle exclusively. You haven't had any formula since your first night at home.
You like to snuggle and be held. You dislike diaper changes and baths.
You seem to be most alert in the evening. I guess you're a little bit of a night owl like your Mommy.
People always comment what a good looking boy you are. Mommy and Daddy definitely agree.
|Mommy and Daddy love their sweet boy!|
Leo, Leia, and Lucy have gotten used to you. Leo doesn't like getting less attention than he used to, but he's adjusted. Leia was very curious about you at first, but now she's used to you. I don't think Lucy noticed much about you.
You make hilarious faces. We watch you and laugh and laugh sometimes.
Most of your clothes are still too big for you, but Mommy knows you're going to grow fast, so she has no intention of buying more newborn clothes. The 0-3 month clothes are almost the right size.
We're planning to use cloth diapers on you, but we're waiting until Mommy is doing well enough to use the stairs enough to do laundry.
We love you, little man! We thank God for you every day and ask Him to bless you all the days of your life!
